We actually did it! We are living the travel adventure we could only dream about.....

But it wasn't always like that and it wasn't by accident. 

​

There was a time we felt trapped chasing someone else's version of the "American Dream". Get up. Get to work. Get more stuff! REPEAT! Then there was the never ending cycle of "The Schedule". There was the work schedule, the school schedule, the activities schedule. Following this "outline" to happiness never felt right to us. From an outside perspective we had it all. But in reality we were just really good at meeting the expectations of what is considered success, stability, and happiness....

The years started to fly by. It felt like the only time we would catch a glimpse of the "Dream Life" we wanted was during our road trips out of state. All we needed to be happy was each other, a back pack of clothes and the open road.

But how could we make the changes we so anxiously wanted......

It all started with the idea of picking a new state. Looking for work and pulling the trigger on the Big Move. We did a ton of research on youtube on what state would be the best choice. Suddenly we came across the full time RVers channels. It was Amazing! We fell in love with the lifestyle. At first we only saw older couples without kids but then we found full families who were living our dream! When we presented this idea to our kids, they were just as excited as us. With everyone on board it was time to push all our efforts on how to make it happen

The main tasks to tackle would be work, school, getting rid of STUFF and buying our new home on wheels. 

​

At the time my husband was an inside wireman so we were still going to be picking a state and staying in that state for specified time. We would be moving on to the next state when my husbands work would permit. Traveling would not be as frequent as some of the other RVers, but it was enough to start. As far as school for the kiddos, we were fortunate enough to have made the decision to homeschool prior to the RV adventure. So it fit right in!

With the job in place and the kids schooling not skipping a beat, we had less than 30 days to buy our home on wheels. Not to mention we had to sell, donate and discard a full house of of STUFF! Everything became clear once we had our dream within our grasp. My husband found our home on Offerup. Made a deal and parked our new home in the driveway! That sped everything up! Each of our three kids willingly donated their entire room full of toys and extra clothes within a week. Anything that was not a necessity  became easily discarded. It became fun and exciting to free ourselves from the weight of the years of  stuff. To get the ball rolling we had a yard sale. We also  blessed our family and friends with anything they might find useful. In the end we donated and had a FREE Yard sale on everything that we had. 

We are a year into our adventure! We have learned alot along the way and have tons to still learn. As you know when you are making changes and taking the path less traveled, it can be a little daunting. We hope by sharing our story it can help you take that leap of faith to turn your adventure into a reality.
